Re: Binding (Remaping?) Hotkeys (F1-F12) To Mouse / Enabling V-sync

Hello everybody! :)

For a long time now I'm rocking a "MMO gaming mouse", the Logitech G600.

It has 12 side buttons, which I used to play Cipsoft's game for a long long time. (Until I drop it about a year ago because I'm so in love with tibiantis haha).

Well, on Tibiantis however, to this day I'm still using the F1-F12 hotkeys on my keyboard (like the good old days), since it's not possible to use the numbers 1 to 12 as hotkeys as we can do in Cips' game nowadays.

Well, after some research, I found out I can remap those side buttons (Using the official logitech's software). So instead of working as numbers 1-12 as they normally would, they can function as the F1-F12 keys.

And here comes my first question:

-Will I have any problems playing with a mouse "remapped" like this? (Considering that is done using an "outside" software?)

As you can see above, what I did was binding the F1-F12 keys to G9-G20 buttons from my G600. (And I did only this!)

-I think it is woth mentioning, however, that this mouse software is very "sophisticated", and has lots of functions I don't even know how to use (even the possibility of programming macros, which I know very well it's completely disallowed) but as said, the only thing I did was remaping those side buttons.

Second question:

-I'd also like to know, if its ok to enable V-sync on Tibiantis using Nvidias control pannel, I'm asking this because I feel that (oddly) my pc is having a hard time running the game, I'm not sure if it's because the FPS keeps varying (since there is no V-sync option built-in), but it might have something to do with it. (I'm not sure tho).

*The only thing I know is that while running the game my pc gets pretty hot and sounds like a jetplane haha.

Thanks in advance everybody! I'm asking both questions beacause I really like the game and want to be on the safe side (and the fair one) when talking about following the rules.

I wish everybody a great time, see you in Tibiantis ;)

Re: Binding (Remaping?) Hotkeys (F1-F12) To Mouse / Enabling V-sync

Hello,

i've been using x-mouse button software to rebind my side buttons to F keys for past 2 years playing Tibiantis and i didn't get ban for that. AFAIK its safe to use rebinding softwares but keep in mind that it cannot do more than one action per click- otherwise it might be considered as macro. No idea about v-sync

Key rebinding is allowed also for mouse buttons.
Enabling V-Sync or FPS cap in graphic card software is safe and even recommended on high-end machines

I used to have the exact same mouse. No issues with assigning the hotkeys, just remember not to use any programmed macro.
