Changelog
26 Oct 2024 - Thanks to a few tweaks to the back-end infrastructure, the server save will now last 10 minutes at most, rather than way over 20 as it did before.

I've noticed, like many others, that the RPG community is slowly fading away. RPG community is essential for the server, they keep the trade/game chat alive. They buy/sell items but most important, they keep the rune market alive.
To revive this aspect of the server we NEED and update, i don't know for how long there has been an "update in progress", but we need it!
In this update there should be quests, group quests, something like PoI quest. This quest should involve the whole server with a level req on 60+(?). This will make people exp their chars but will also be hard for people to do on "noob chars". Monsters in this quest should be very hard ofc to prevent people from hunting there. Also there must be a maze to solve, similar to Phantasm maze in RL PoI.
There should also be a quest to even open up the main quest. Ofc monsters dont give OP exp, items. We dont want anything that destroys the balance or remove the essence of Tibia 7.4.
We all know that the 7.4 map is limited, that's how it is BUT i believe the admins can improve and give more content to keep the server alive.
I've seen alot of rubbish proposals on this side of the forum that will remove the 7.4 feeling, some of that will make the game somehow easier. For those players, please consider quitting on Tibiantis, there's other custom "easy" 7.4 servers with custom clients. You can even change your outfit to look like a Dwarf or Elf on some of them!
Every player is an RPG player, as Tibiantis is an RPG (role-playing game). RPG is not strictly about exping or completing PoI-like quests, but about playing roles. And that includes every aspect of this game (that is acceptable by the rules). Let it be a noble peaceful paladin, or an explorer, but also a rogue, thief, warmonger, rune maker, trader, helper, or power gamer - they are all in line with the RPG concept. Dividing and pigeonholing the community on the "RPG" and "non-RPG" is a misconception.
Anyway, semantics aside. The update is in progress and therefore proposing to release it is pointless. We understand that waiting may be frustraiting, but we are not withholding it on a whim. It will be released as soon as it is fully done. Not sooner, not later.
Also, please do not use the "players are quitting" argument, because it's worthless. It's been used for years already, everytime when the adversary tries to convince us to their views. Players quit, new players come in their place, others come back from their "retirement", it's a natural process. Tibiantis is over 4 years old and its community is not any smaller or in worse condition than it was in the beginning. Those 4 years have already proven that this argument is merely a cliche.

I've been playing Tibiantis for just over two months, and while many players are initially drawn to it by nostalgia, they soon realize that the "hardcore" experience of the past—long periods of leveling and slower mechanics—isn't as enjoyable by today's MMO standards. THAT'S A FACT: nostalgic memories often don't align with the reality of modern gaming. Additionally, most of us no longer have the free time to spend hours grinding or making runes... The lack of updates in Tibiantis may also contribute to this feeling of stagnation.

That's why I agree with you that the server needs some changes—implementations that stay true to the spirit of Tibia's past, such as adding areas like Port Hope/Tiquanda, the Dark Cathedral, or The Shattered Isles, and perhaps a new city like Liberty Bay, all of which were part of updates from versions 7.2 to 7.8. REMEMBER: The implementation of Aruthang, for instance, did not alter the 7.4 experience in any significant way. These updates could help maintain long-term interest, as many players already know the current content inside and out, which can reduce engagement over time.

However, you seem to contradict yourself here. You advocate for changes to the server, yet you view the changes proposed by others as excessive for a 7.4 server. You argue that “there are other customized 'easy' 7.4 servers with custom clients where you can even change your outfit to look like a dwarf or elf in some of them.” I believe there is room to expand content while preserving its core features. Introducing new content that respects the slow progression and original "hardcore" style can keep players engaged over the long term, without making the game easier or distorting the experience. I understand concerns that some proposals might alter the game (possibly even mine?*), but finding a balance is crucial. *Yesterday, I posted about adding outfits and addons. Some suggested importing outfits already created by CipSoft or creating exclusive ones, similar to what happened in Medivia. The key is to ensure that these changes respect the game's original aesthetic and design, without altering what made the 7.4 version special.

I hope we will get some custom content with a nice story line, instead of this unbalanced places listed above. I'm pretty sure that administration know what to do, we just need to wait for the results. But God, please no 'updating' tibiantis to newer versions features. We started on 7.4, cuz we like 7.4. Let admins show their creativity like with aruthang or post war ank.
