Re: Cheat detection is broken.

Good evening all,

Me and some friends started playing this server last week and were. Some 5/6 days in we were all banned until deletion whilst offline for using "unofficial software".
Absolutely NO SOFTWARE/Bots/macros/recorders ect were used at any point on any character.

After an email to support I recieved a copy paste generic reply saying "we are 100% sure and have details you were cheating, but you can make new chars and try again."

We asked for these details that triggered the deletion to prevent it happening again, and were never given any advice or reason. This leads me to believe that the owners here have no idea what their detection system is detecting and that it is randomly banning innocent players.

Despite this we sucked it up and started again as of yesterday.
Today my brother (Skool Shooter) was kicked and banned while exploring Kazordoon with another guy, once again for no reason whatsoever.

This is absolutely ridiculous, and im starting to believe that this server is a scam for peoples money through the purchase of premium accounts.

Could a GM look into what exactly is causing these bans because no cheating of ANY form is being used and the bot detection is clearly not fit for purpose.

Regards

Re: Cheat detection is broken.

Please, spare us this nonsense. In that what you call a "copy paste generic reply" to your "brother" we clearly stated that another attempt to cheat would result in permanent exclusion from the game, since it was already 4th or 5th ban. And yet again he decided to run that shitty bot, so you can tell him that he is now banned permanently. Which means that from now on, we will be deleting all accounts that he logs on. If you are unable to play fairly, then don't play at all.

What bot is being used? You fail to explain what it is but are so adamant it exists, he is my "brother" I dont know why its hard to believe I have one of those or why it requires quotation. Give me details of the cheat and ill search his computer myself as im being punished through this.

Re: Cheat detection is broken.

If the banishment is a consequence of breaking the rule 3c), 3d) or 3f) ("Cheating"), the Player may be refused detailed information as to when and how the violation took place if such information could be used to improve their ways of cheating in the future (which is obviously the case here, since you have attempted to cheat several times already). Withholding this kind of information helps us to protect our sophisticated inspecting methods against reverse engineering and thus to keep the Game fair for all Players. In such case, as well as in case of other extreme violations, the banishment may be extended to other accounts accessed by the Users of the offending account.

If you don't agree with our anti-cheating policy, you have the right not to play. I'm sure you will find plenty of other servers with less strict approach.
