Changelog
26 Oct 2024 - Thanks to a few tweaks to the back-end infrastructure, the server save will now last 10 minutes at most, rather than way over 20 as it did before. Check full changelog...

Re: Brazilian or NA server

Aight, so...

I'm a pretty new player so forgive me if that was already proposed/talked about.
What I wanted to suggest is to create a new Brazilian or at least NA server (I think that doesn't require creating a new world, right?), and the reason for this is that most Tibia players are Brazilian afaik, and right now it's almost unplayable because of the high ping.

How would you create a new brazilian server, and not creating a new world?

Re: Brazilian or NA server

I'm Brazilian and I know that a BR server will never have the success of a European server. That's why we only have season servers here, none solid. Unfortunately it's the truth.

I'm not exactly sure about it, I actually wanted to ask if it's possible.

I agree with you, the mentality of Brazilian players seems to be different. But anyway I wouldn't close the doors to this public like it's being done. I'm sure there are still a good amount of Brazilian players that would love the experience here, and the proof is that there already exists some Brazilian players despite the difficulties faced (intense lag and premium time in Euro).
I'm playing with so much lag that in a way it reminds me of old school Tibia on dial-up connection lol. I've played on other non-Brazilian private servers recently (I probably can't mention which one)  and I haven't faced anything close to this.

Brazil is the #1 demographic share of Tibia's playerbase (by "Tibia" I mean any type of Tibia, be it cipsoft tibia, otserv or tibia-like games). If anyone needs proof or data of that let me know that I can prove you. Poland is very close to Brazil in terms of demographic share. We all know that.

The servers Melkor is referring to are not Tibiantis servers, the fact that we don't have a good brazilian server out there (which is true) doesn't mean we don't have a lot of brazilians that want to play a server like Tibiantis.

We have a lot of brazilians playing Tibiantis, despite the insane lag, so you can imagine how many potential more players we could have with a Tibiantis' world (likely based in NA) that offered a decent ping to BRs, considering, as we know, that BRs are Tibia's #1 demographic.

Ok I am sure someone will come here arguing that BRs are not the #1 demographic so I'll just jump ahead and provide proof.

1. If we are talking about old tibia, yes, BRs were #1 demographic back then. (2006)

2. If we are talking about current cipsoft Tibia, yes, BRs currently are #1 demographic.

This is just some math on a excel sheet based on current online players in every world. Right now its 5:30 PM in Brazil and 10 PM in Europe. So, despite it being more likely to have more EU online now we still have more BRs and also we have more BRs worlds too.
Source: https://www.tibia.com/community/?subtopic=worlds

If you go to Tibia's highscores you'll see that 36 out of the 50 top players are from BR worlds. This means 72% of the top 50 tibia players are likely BR (as they play in BR world).

3. If we are talking about otservers, yes, BRs are currently #1 demographic.

There are 23690 players online on 425 servers, count the flags (do I really have to do this math?)

Source: https://otservlist.org/#

Yes, otservlist is not the perfect source, some servers like Tibiantis are not listed there, blablabla but if you study statistics you know we only need a big enough sample, its proof.
