Guide - how to avoid getting killed by pkAs you may have noticed recently there is increased pk activity. They call themselves szarancza (eng. locust), consisting of over 30 players with many low-level characters (more in making). I hope some of my free thoughts will help you avoid being killed/robbed/scammed by them.
Their plan is for each team member to have 5 characters, one in each facc city - they will scout/trap their targets and call others to relog and come quickly. They also won't be doing mass pk action every day because that will make people more careful - only once every few days so don't feel safe even if they haven't been active for a while.
1. If you're traveling to trade with someone in other city - it's best to send the item you trade in earlier to that city's depo and use some low lvl maker for travel - it's possible that they bait you with a good offer and wait on the other side with boat trap.
ALWAYS HAVE "BRING ME TO
SOME_CITY_NAME" ON HOTKEY - you can make the boat NPC take you to that city when he is busy talking to another player. It's 3 times more expensive, but if you're trapped, it can save your life. Note that if the npc isn't busy talking to anyone, you can't use this method, so you'll have to write the standard hi > some_city_name > yes.
Remember that in some cities you can’t use this method as npc can’t be talked to from the sqm you arrive on boat.
Ab'dendriel – you
CANNOT talk to boat NPC to travel back from sqm that you arrive on
Venore – you
CANNOT talk to boat NPC to travel back from sqm that you arrive on(if they push the NPC away)
Carlin - you can talk to boat NPC to travel back from sqm that you arrive on
Thais - you can talk to boat NPC to travel back from sqm that you arrive on
you don't want to die in a boat trap like these guys:
88 rp
60 rp
58 ek
Connected - always keep all channels open in the game: Trade, Game-chat, Help, RL-chat (if you are pl) - reading them can save your life when e.g. there is a boat trap in one of the cities.
2. Don't trade with low lvl using parcels (wait for them to send first) - check their lvl on the website before trying to trade (keep in mind that they might namefake some high lvls).
3. Always have a couple of destroy field and desintegrate runes with you (mwalls too - to slow their pursuit, 9mlvl required) - you don't want to get trapped like this guy:
(2 parcels stacked block way, so you have to use desintegrate to remove the parcels under fire field or destroy field the fire and move them)
If you see a bunch of low lvls gathered, it's most likely them, so expect the worst - best just go the opposite way, if you get in between them they'll bodyblock you and e.g. push you to sqm where they can uh-trap you.
4. Don't skill in obvious places near the city - go to some deserted spots that people with low lvls would have trouble getting to (behind the lvl door would be ideal):
Skilling on slime - remember that you can lure the monster anywhere and thanks to the overspawn a new one will spawn, so you should lure the slime mother as far away from its spawn as possible.
Pacc area also limits their number to just a few characters (this may change as the more eqs dropped from a random ppl, the more of them will be able to buy pacc with in-game money)
5. Do not enter narrow corridors where you can easily be blocked/mwalled.
6. Don't enter the building with 1 door if there is a noobchar scouting around.
Thais bank - one noobchar blocked someone using the door and told the rest to relog
7. Don't afk where there is a door nearby - they'll kill you in an energy/fire field without taking the white skull and frag. (or ladder, where they can rope you up on energy field)
8. They bought a house on Fibula and steal lootbags from people who come to sell crossbows/hatchets etc. - don't go there alone (have a friend to scout for you), take a parcel with a label with your name and city in it, just in case you'll notice them - send it back and try another time, there is a parcel box nearby.
They plan to buy houses in Carlin in Theater Avenue, to bodyblock+push victims there and make uh trap on door, so watch out in Carlin between temple and depo
All those tips may seem paranoid, but you can be sure, that if there is any way they can make your day worse - they will exploit it.
Some Trivia - Many of them are unemployed good-for-nothing losers in life, who leech off their parents and their highlight of the day is killing some afk-skilling ek in a game.
They had some shared items in house, but 1 day after one of their "team" members stole items like war hammer which is worth 2k and never showed online again. Other member told that he will sell loot (that they stole from somebody else) and he dissapeared with it to never come back.
some of their members are:
profesorek – leader, semi-popular ots streamer https://www.twitch.tv/profesorek_
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_48dPCO-4vg
marhozi – in past leader of war team Triad, stole account of team member with high lvl rp
ulomek - known for owning 150 bedmages in past and abusing them to random pk (he doesn't own them anymore)
byczek - loser in previous war (supports them with eq and takes part in actions)
Feel free to give your own tips and if you think this guide may help someone
please share it with your friends/guildmates/random ppl you see afking/skilling in risky places that can potentially become victims to their shenanigans (and indirectly support them with their bp and eq).
