Re: [ RP ] Guide for new players by Quark

Paladin / Royal Paladin

Rookgaard

Main goal of Rookgaard is getting level 8.

1. When you login having 0 equipment and 0 money - What I recommend to do is:

- Killing sheeps -  selling meat
- Killing Rats on "doublet quest" (could be anywhere) and selling "corpses" to Tom

That is how you can get some starting cash without risking your life on quests.

Another way is getting quests done, but it is a bit more complicated. I want to keep this guide basic.

Remember that there are knights on mainland that need "sickle" for training, you can buy a few on rookgard for 2 gp and sell it to knights on mainland for 200-500 gp. It is always worth to buy a few - you never know.

Everyone likes different city, just choose what you like!

Main Land

At this point you should have:
- Basic gear (leather set + wooden shield  /  or better )
- Rope + Shovel  [ maybe fishing rod - 150 gp ]
- Money to purchase 5 spears or more.
- Exevo pan - Spell "Food" 150 gp

1. A few words about paladin-

Some people do skill, some people do not.

Remember to  keep 1 sqm distance between you and monster  ( X o Y)  X-PLAYER   o - FREE SQM   Y- MONSTER
for best accuracy and damage.

In my opinion it is worth to skill a little bit (10->30 or 10->40) at the beginning of the game - so you do not get angry while throwing spears.

In my opinion it is a mix of mage and knight, most universal vocation, playing this vocation you will make fastest progres, you will have a lot of fun - and it is pretty cheap to play.

2. At the beginning of your gameplay you should:

Think - what monsters there are around the city that you chose

Trolls / Snakes / Wolfs / Bears / Bugs ...

Most people choose trolls as first opponents - you can loot some spears.

But i think hunting monsters like "wolf, bear, deer..." allows you to make lootbag of meat / ham which you can sell to players so you have some starting cash.

Level 8 - 13
Skills 10-30
Magic level 0 - 3

Monsters you should look for:

Troll / Bug / Snake / Bear / Wolf / Deer / Skeleton

Thais:

Trolls - south east of east gate   [ take shovel and rope ]

Snake / Wolf / Bear ... around city  (north and north east of east gate and north west of east gate)

Venore

Bug / Snake / Bear  / Creatures around north west gate  - just dont go to amazon camp.

Swamp Troll -  south of south gate

Snake / Bug / Bear  - south west of south gate  [ be careful - someone might lure scorpion - bring parcel or parcels with ]

Carlin

Folda - Frost trolls  [bring rope]

Trolls on cementary - east gate  (You need key 3520 - google it )

Creatures around city

Ab'dendriel

I have never lived in Ab'dendriel  / sorry

Wasps - exit of hellgate ( bring food )

Trolls under city

Kazordoon

In my opinion you should not choose this city at level 8.
But if you choose it, you probably know what you are doing.

Once you get magic level 3 you should try to buy a spell " Heavy Magic Missile " rune / Backpack of these cost 2 - 2.2 k.

I recommend to make it while hunting with spears.

Spear + lamp + vial of oil + food + blank rune  - and life is good :)

Level 13 - 15
Skills 30-35
Magic level 3 - 5

Using my guide above you should earn some money

You should try to get:

Brass Armor / Brass Legs  / Dwarven Shield / Soldier helmet / Scarf / Leather Boots - OR BETTER

Just make 1 backpack of heavy magic missile [ HMM ] and sell it for 2.2k and you are good to go.

With this gear you should be able to hunt rotworms or minotaurs. Just think what your city has to offer.

Make lootbags, once you sell your first lootbag you will know forever It is worth making them.

Remember to use this map TIBIANTIS.INFO

If it helps atleast 1 person  I will upgrade this tutorial or I will continue making it. Maybe you can pass it to some "new friend or new player" :) Enjoy and comment below

Nice guide! :)
sadly picking up spears or restocking on ammo all the time makes paladin unenjoyable for me haha!

You could go full def for a few hours on Rotworms up to like level 15, or when your equipment allows it. That should set you straight to decent dist.
