Re: Where are the "true old school players'?

Hey guys!
About 2 months ago there was a discussion about updates for economy balance...
Well we heard a lot, most from "old players" who thought they were better cuz they dont like anything new.
The thing is... we also like old school tibia, we just think about something thats really important: In game economy.
As i said before, a lot of itens on market, low prices, runes up, pigs also rising. The game needs updates to burn itens from monsters (so they dont get cheap), we need new stuff and content to burn GP's, and finally, attractive updates and ADS (please, that would be very good) to bring PLAYERS TO BUY THE GODDAMN itens and runes.
So now, i would like to summon my old "true player" walther white, who spent 2 years geting spears on the ground to be king of nothing and said we didnt need updates. I told ya mate, hope u ve learned:D

To the staff, please, its your investment... i know u ve got rl problems and jobs, but at least be honest with us about updates or spend some money on Ads... Thanks!

Re: Where are the "true old school players'?

In general I somewhat agree cuz that has been a problem with Tibia for a very long time: better ways to burn money at npcs. Djinns for example would make the economy (right now) only worse, just think of all the money that would suddenly get into the economy. Making ank access easy / just releasing it / making new custom areas wouldnt help the current problems.

What we need would be to make "every day stuff" way more expensive: boat travel, blessings, aol, maybe even parcels, house rent, hell maybe even stuff like life rings and mana fluids etc. The updates people suggest here are often the wrong way that either doesnt fit tibia at all (getting dmg buffs or whatever for trading in 100 skull staffs) or would make it only worse (advertise to get more players, make more hunting grounds = more pure money and small items (from sword to halberd) that can be sold to npcs looted = more money in the economy = more expensive runes, pigs, etc.).

Right now we slowly see what happened in real tibia - inflation. No idea myself what the best way to fight that would be without going too far away from 7.4. In the end everyone here signed up to play 7.4 (yes ank is missing but it doesnt make THAT much difference from a purely economic standpoint - would have probably made the inflation only faster and worse if we had djinns from the beginning) and 7.4 had "problems", everyone should know that.

Quick idea for something that might help that came to my mind while writing: How about when players die and drop eq the dropped eq has a 50% (or however high) chance of beeing destroyed instead of dropped? That in combination with making lets say boat travel and other stuff way more expensive would burn quite some eq and money every day (and with "make boat travel more expensive" i dont mean "slap 50gp on it" - i mean way more expensive, 5x-10x or something but to a point where u might think about walking from carlin to thais to sell something instead of taking the boat)

and about your little comment "So now, i would like to summon my old "true player" walther white, who spent 2 years geting spears on the ground to be king of nothing and said we didnt need updates. I told ya mate, hope u ve learned"

If you mean cuz im barely hunting atm: has zero to do with the economy/lack of updates. Either im playing something different (god behold there are other fun games out there too :O ) or im working on other stuff on Tibiantis like quests. Oh and I didnt train for 2 years, was mainly 7-8~ months while working from home office, If i didnt have the option to train while in homeoffice I wouldnt have the dist I have cuz I wouldnt waste "so much free time" on training. Right now Homeoffice time is over for me (for now) so thats why I didnt get a single dist skill in months.

Re: Where are the "true old school players'?

Some ideas in a bit more detail:

- Make Parcels cost 150gp and Letters 80gp  (100gp and 50gp with Postman)

- Make Boats cost 5x-10x of prices right now (10-20% discount for Postman)

(Those two would also make Postman quest more useful)

- Make Blank Runes cost 20-30gp

- Make Backpacks cost 50-100gp and in the cheap citys (like darashia) 30-60gp (would maybe keep hunting grounds a bit more "clean" cuz people take home their backpacks if possible, just imagine having a actual player market for reselling backpacks back to the runemakers)

- Make Mana fluids cost 200gp, return of flask gives back 50gp (so if u return flask mana fluid is 150gp, would also keep hunting grounds a bit more "clean")

- Make Life rings 1,5k at shop

- Make Bolts cost 4 or 5 gp and arrows 3 or 4gp (if bolt 4 arrow 3, if bolt 5 arrow 4)

- Make small useful stuff some NPC's sell more expensive (like scarfs, make then 250gp or smth)

- Make rent of houses and guildhouses 2x-3x

- Make all blessings cost 15k each (so 75k in total, would give room to make phoenix egg more usefull, make it so it reduces kazordoon price by 5k)

- Make AOL cost 75k

- Make it so items dropped when players die have a chance of beeing destroyed instead of dropped

- (maybe) Make monsters drop less pure cash by 10-20% (not sure about that one, just writing down everything that comes to mind)

- Make Magic Light Wands not dissapear but have them "empty" and make a NPC that refills them for 200-300?gp

- Make oil more expensive, 20-30?gp

Stuff like that would actually tackle the problem of having too much money in the economy without changing the game too much compared to other stuff people suggest. Gonna add a few more ideas when something comes to my mind.

I dont see any people crying about inflation on server but bunch of macacos who cry that 10k cost now 1 euro not 2 like before.

Server is older and there is more money on server its normal pace of the game.

And if someone new without connections want to start its actually good that items are cheap.

As well try to tell newcommer that he has to pay 1k for boat :) unless you want to sponsor everyone ?

If you want to burn money only option is to introduce some kind of decorations that cost a lot. Still ccs looks better :)

Increasing price of sorcerer/druid items would totally destroy them. There is always balance needed. Knights are the guys that makes the most while sorcerers are only spending cash anyway, why would you hit them even more?

I suggest:
-increasing mana required to make uhs by 20, that would hit knights significantly,

-increasing travel cost by 20%,

-increasing house rent cost by at least 30%, that's funny that you have to pay only 6k for huge af venore house right now,

-ADD INCREASING PRICE OF BLESSINGS that's nonsense right now, that the price of such required "service" is constant.

Price of pigs will grow no metter what you would do. Number of players only goes down, including those willing to pay for premium. (Unless GODS would add possibility to buy pigs for gold coins, but that would hurt their wallets and possibly kill server)

Increasing price of basic stuff such as shop items would completely destroy starting players. nonsense.

Firstly, increasing the price of services or items is not a bad idea, but it should not attack new players.
It shouldn't affect characters who can't "earn themselves" either.
Secondly, gms completely don't care what we think. This problem has existed not since yesterday but since a few months and it keeps growing without any response from our gods.

Do you want to find a solution?

Re: Where are the "true old school players'?

Those were just some quick idea where we could "attack" to get money out of the economy, didnt say everything has to be made that way and in those increases. And ya hitting knight is somewhat the hardest with having "getting money out of the economy" in mind. Increasing UHs mana cost doesnt do anything to that, the money just changes hand, thats why i had the blank rune/backpack idea. It would make runemaking more expensive which inturn would make made runes more expensive (I mean if i had to pay 400gp more for a bp of blanks i would make my bp prices 400gp higher, so mages would still get the same money while more money is burnt at npc's).

You do realize that it is almost impossible to profit on the server as it is today, unless you're mastercarding hard. Monsters barely drop anything that gives you any money and you want to reduce the gold aswell? Highering manafluids which is insanely expensive as it is right now and the list goes on. Your "thoughts" would make it totally impossible to play here for a guy that doesn't buy things for rl cash, the only reason some people can afford things is because of the people that isn't spending any cash here sells them to the other players.

Re: Where are the "true old school players'?

Solution is easy.

items should be exchanged for consumable items, cosmetic items, new quest line.

for example:
5 skull staff = stone skin amulet
2 blue robe = elven amulet
giant sword = iron throne deco to house
warrior helmet = opening some questline

etc.
